We made straw rockets at Cubs tonight. The Cubs really enjoyed making them and they flew well. All you need is to do is print out enough templates, use scissors and tape to assemble them and a straw to fire them off. We had competitions to see who could blow theirs the furtherest, and who could blow theirs the highest.
Check out the video and the full instructions here at Kidspot.
The template they have on the Kidspot website only prints two sets per sheet of paper, which seems a bit wasteful to me, so I created my own version of the same template and you can make four straw rockets per piece of paper (and they’re the same size as in the original template). Download it here in PDF format.
